Jasper Truyens
Biography
Jasper Truyens works as an doctoral researcher at the Department of Sports Policy and Management (Faculty of Physical Education and Physiotherapy) of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). Jasper Truyens graduated in 2006 as Master in Sociology and earned a postgraduate diploma in sports management (2007). He is currently working as a PhD- on the competitive position of NGBs in elite athletics policies. By measuring and comparing the organisational characteristics of NGBs in athletics, his work improves the understanding of the competitive position of NGBs nationally and internationally in the development of elite sport success. As junior researcher, he is developing new perspectives within the SPLISS-consortium group on the measurement and comparison of elite development systems. Additionally, Jasper takes part in the SPLISS II study (coordinated by Prof. Dr. Veerle De Bosscher) as a researcher. This study compares elite sport policies in 16 different countries.
