On behalf of the SPLISS research group, Sport Vlaanderen and the Athletes4Society consortium, we are delighted to invite you to our international conference “ATHLETES 4 SOCIETY: Empowering the public value of elite sport” on Friday May 12th (9.30 AM to 6.00 PM) at the Koninklijke Vlaamse Schouwburg (KVS), Brussels, Belgium.
Athletes 4 Society (A4S) is a 2-year project that aims to inspire, support and stimulate sport organisations to increase the public value of sport through leveraging elite athletes as role models. During the final conference, you will be able to:
-
gain a comprehensive understanding of the societal impact of elite sport;
-
learn about multiple inspirational practices from different organisations across Europe;
-
try out different tools for developing an athlete role model programme and reaching societal impact through sport.
The morning programme includes presentations from international experts and practitioners representing multiple organisations from the world of sport across 6 European countries (Belgium, Czechia, Finland, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal). The afternoon programme includes workshops where you learn to use the A4S toolkit to develop, evaluate, and/or monitor your own role model programme.
The detailed programme can be consulted here:
While participation is free, registration is required. Don’t hesitate to register as we have limited capacity (full is full!).
